Divya Khosla, a very shy but also a famous student in her class as she being a good dancer and good in sports such as paragliding, skating, trekking and athletics. Yet she did not actually learn classical dance except on vacations. She was regular participant in her Montfort School's extra curricular wing. Though her very soft persona and polite demeanour contradicts that.
She is Divya Khosla, a big-eyed beauty, almost classical, who is making her debut with Anil Sharma's Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyon. In the film, she is the lead heroine and has two men, Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol, trying to get her attention.
"I am very fortunate to have got this role which was actually written for Aishwarya Rai, as Anilji told me. After being in the film, suddenly, we have been lifted to a larger than life status. Even my brother who studies in class IVth, was a sought after kid on the film sets," chuckles Divya. Anil, she says, chose her because of "the calmness" on her face after seeing her in a Reliance advertisement.
Role Models
Divya, who considers Vaijyantimala and Hema Malini her role models, sees herself most comfortable in emotional roles. And well, please remember that, she claims to have refused to do films like Murder which despite having a good script, is a major skin show.
"Ultimately, I have to come back to my family. I have been nurtured on certain values and I will always abide by them. There are women who stoop to any level for making it a hit in the films and there are heroines like Vaijyantimala, Hema Malini and Sri Devi who have had successful tenures in films without exposing for they had talent to speak for them. I would like to follow them," she declares.
