On the 35mm highway
Tina Parakh, 23, a commerce graduate from Mumbai's Mithibai College doesn't quite like being called TV'S Pocket Venus.
"There's more to me than my height. The good thing about TV is that no one looks at your physique. Your talent matters more. In films things are different," she claims.
Tina treks into films with Sanjay Upadhay's Satya Bol opposite newcomer Manish Singh. "My debut film doesn't need me to be a glam doll. Sandhya, my character, is a sensible woman - the anchor for this tough rookie cop. I didn't have to wear minis," she laughs.
She says about Shruti, her character in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki: "Shruti is one of the most acceptable characters in Kahaani... She's very human, unlike other oh-so-perfect characters in sundry soaps. I don't relate to her beyond a point but she's special - it's thanks to Kahani... that I am here today," confesses Tina.
Once the make-up comes off, Tina hits the gym, reads Dan Brown or Paulo Coelho and loves to sleep. "I am just a regular girl who's slightly well-known," she grins.
