A new formula for Bollywood?
With Rok Sako To Rok Lo all set to release, we decided to ask management guru-turned-director Arindam Chaudhuri how he zeroed in on the story for his first Hindi feature film. And, just as expected, the pony-tailed director came up with a 'well researched' answer. "We solicited various storylines and then we short-listed a number of them," he explained. "Then we put these storylines to test with the audience and narrowed down the choice to five. Again, in-depth research was done on these stories. One of these was a love story and people said we have one big love story every year. Another was a period film and people said there's a period film every two years. But for this kind of young film people said there had not been a similar film for the last 12 years! It's a school film like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, and such a film would be looked forward to. That settled it." Ah, well! Now if only more producers put as much thought into their storylines, we'd have more viewable flicks to see!
