Dia Mirza on love, life and her career
Ask Dia what she's been up to and she tells you that she has been busy promoting her film, Tumsa Nahin Dekha which ultimately, Kisi ne nahin dekha. Dia got her fair share of publicity for her smooch with co-star Emraan Hashmi, though, "I think you learn more from your failures than from your successes. So, with every film, role and experience, I've learned a lot. I've matured into a responsible actor and with time, I will grow," she says.
Dressed in a long skirt and a beautiful top, the lass plays a college kid in her fourthcoming movie prateeksha. Harking back to her own college days, Dia reminises, "I was very rowdy and boisterous. I would run away whenever I'd get the chance, bunk class and either go for a game of basketball or sit on a tree and read a good book. I was quite a naughty college-going student."
So Dia considers herself to be successful, inspite of not having a single hit under her belt? "I am a successful actress. The fact that I am doing good cinema where my capabilities are put to test and the fact that I am working with good production houses proves the point,"
she justifies. The lady has had a few problems with some people within the industry, with producer with producer Vashu Bhagnani, for example. Does that make Bollywood a bad place to be in? "I haven't had any bad experience. Yes, there have been times when things you wish don't happen," she avers. "But everyone has gone through that. Nothing in life is beautiful. And if you believe that everything is going to be hunky dory, rosy and lovely, you are heading for a big surprise! Once you accept that there are uncertanities in life and taht you have to accept things the way they are, you don't get as disappointed."
Dia has always been open about her relationships. Even her break-up with Bunty Sachdeva was no secret. So who is the danity Dia dating these days? "I am enjoying being single and all the male attention I am getting. Somehow, suddenly the whole male population seems to have woken up to my existence, since I am single now! I am not a relatinship and nor am I looking at getting into one right away. I am really enjoying work. It's incredible!"
