Returm of the Singh
Post break-up with husband Saif Ali Khan, Amrita Singh is slowly picking up the reins of her life and has decided to start working all over again. Today, she is set to stage her second career-coming with Ektaa Kappor's serial Kul (Dynasty). Her friends and former co-stars arehappy with her decisions to return to her first love.
Says Sunny Deol, good friend and Amrita's first co-star and we acted in a couple of films together. I really enjoyed working with her. She's a natural, a great actress. I'm sure she will do well for herself."
Mahesh Bhatt, who directed Amrita in the superhit Naam, goes a step ahead and describes her as one of the few natural actresses of her time.
"You don't hjave to explain scenes to her, she takes to acting like a fish takes to water." Bhatt, however, is skeptical about Amrita's TV debut. "I don't know wheather TV will allow her to explore her talent since it is a limited medium and doesnm't offer much time to react like in the movies. I don't know what TV will offer her."
But Rahul Roy disagrees with his one-time mentor Bhatt, and thinks Amrita will be the one of the best things to happen to TV. According to what I have read in the papers, she role and it will be a treat to watch her. She's an amazing actress. In fact, I was the one who told my producers to sign her for my film Pyar Ka Saaya and she did an amazing job. I'm really excited and looking forward to catching her on TV. I'm realy aexcited and looking forward to catching her on TV."
Rahul's views are echoed by Chunky Pandey, whosays, "I have done two films with her and always aadmired her; Amrita's a brave person and a great human being. She is particularly good at comedy - she has great timing and her own slot. I don't know what she will be doing, but hope she works in a comedy serial."
Sunjay Dutt, a friend and former co-star, is extremely fond of Amrita. When he came to know about her break-up, he was among the first to call her and offer help. Another co-star, Jackie Shroff also has world of lpraise for Amrita. "She's the best, She's a sweetheart-one of the best actresses I have worked with. I did Aaina with her and thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed her company. I really wish her all the best."
