Comeback girl
Delhi girl Sandali Sinha who maintained a low profile for a year after Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi's Pinjar hit the screens last year, is set to make a comeback.
Sandali began her tinsel trek two years back in Anubhav Sinha's Tum Bin, a commercial success that didn't change the course of her career, (as hits tend to do). After a series of indifferent films and a glamdoll image, Sandali admits that if she hadn't landed Anil Sharma's Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon life would have been tough: "Sometimes good roles can change your career. Big banners make all the difference to actresses like me who have no clout in the industry or a godfather. Ab Tumhare Hawale... is a big film and I have a well defined role."
The Arts graduate from Jesus and Mary College insists that life in Mumbai can be tough for outsiders like her who are not pushy. "I didn't want to send my CV to directors or call them for roles like a lot of others do. I didn't mind the year-long wait after Pinjar and I am content with one good film a year. I am sure Ab Tumhare... will get me noticed."
Beginning as a model, Sandali did interesting assignments like the cola ad with Shah Rukh Khan a few years back where she gets locked in a car with him. But movies are her life now.
"I am not looking at winning the number one slot, I'm content with being recognised as an actress." Here's wishing her luck.
